Mouse IL-15

A key cytokine involved in the development of immune responses against microbial pathogens and parasites, IL-15 stimulates the proliferation and activation of natural killer (NK) cells, T-cells, and B-cells, enhancing their secretion of various cytokines. It induces monocytes to produce chemokines like IL-8 and CCL2, attracting neutrophils and monocytes to infection sites. Uniquely, IL-15 is expressed on the surface of producing cells, bound to its high-affinity receptor (IL15RA), facilitating direct signaling to target cells that express IL2RB and IL2RG. This interaction activates JAK1 and JAK3, leading to phosphorylation of STAT3 and STAT5, while also influencing mast cell survival and cytokine release.
