Mouse IL-9

A multifunctional cytokine primarily secreted by T-helper 2 lymphocytes, mast cells, and NKT cells, IL-9 plays crucial roles in immune responses against parasites, affects intestinal epithelial permeability, and influences adaptive immunity. It promotes the differentiation of specific T-cell subsets, including TH17 cells, and stimulates mast cell proliferation and differentiation. IL-9 exerts its effects through a receptor composed of the IL9R subunit and the common gamma subunit (IL2RG), activating JAK1 and JAK3, which leads to transcriptional programs mediated by STAT1, STAT3, and STAT5.
